Peanut oil is the oil from the nuts of legumes, also called the nut, of the peanut plant. Peanut oil is not only good for application but is good to consume in moderation. This edible oil helps in improving blood flow and you can use this oil for improving hair health. Antioxidants present in peanut oil and a good amount of vitamin E are helpful in reducing skin irritations.

Peanut oil has traditionally been used as a moisturizer to alleviate conditions like psoriasis and eczema. It has a heavy, greasy texture that leaves a shine on the skin and treats dryness by deeply moisturizing it. The presence of oleic acid makes the oil very greasy hence unfit for use on oily acne pimple prone skin. The oil is comedogenic and its usage can lead to breakouts and aggravate the condition. 
  • Antioxidant and anti-aging properties – Vitamin E and phenols in peanut oil help neutralize free radicals and therefore fight aging. Vitamin E also encourages cell repair and rejuvenation making the skin healthy and radiant.
  • Anti-inflammatory properties – Peanut oil relieves and calms skin of minor irritations and reduces redness and itching caused by dry skin.
  • Protects the skin from damage – Oxidants cause many types of damage to our skin. Vitamin E present in peanuts protects against this reaction of cells. Also, the antioxidants present in it protect the skin from harmful rays.
